My
work is primarily acrylic paint and collage, an exploration of different kinds
of materials and forms, using color, line and texture. I am covering and exposing
different parts of the painting, so as to play with depth and texture. My painting
comes from my sense of play. The result is, I hope, a reserved “place”
for the viewer to also play, with each person’s interpretation becoming
a personal note on their own version of playfulness.
I live
and work in Seattle and am a member of Columbia City Gallery, as well as sell
work privately. I am mostly self-taught, but have taken classes at the Pratt
Fine Art Center of Seattle and at the Museum School of Boston. Currently I
am an artist in residence at the University of Washington Medical Center,
where I work with patients in rehabilitation.
